About London

London is a native San Franciscan raised by her grandmother in the Plaza East Public Housing complex in the Western Addition.

She graduated with honors from Galileo High School, and attended the University of California, Davis, where she earned her Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science-Public Service, with a minor in African American Studies. London went on to earn a Master’s degree in Public Administration from the University of San Francisco.

Before her election as District 5 Supervisor in 2012, London served as Executive Director of the African American Art & Culture Complex in the Western Addition for 10 years, transforming the struggling center into an economically stable community resource, providing after school arts and cultural programs for youth and seniors.

London previously served as a San Francisco Redevelopment Agency Commissioner and as a member of the San Francisco Fire Commission.
